Freshmen Jordan Fortel and Amanda Beltran both hit a homer against the Bears.
Sophomore Cori Jennings pitched every inning except two at bats in the sixth frame. The Bears only earned one run while she was in the circle.
The Mocs got on the board in the opening inning. Senior Alyssa Taylor doubled, while sophomore Ashley Conner batted her in off a double to give UTC a 1-0 lead.
In the top of the fourth, Mercer had a runner on first and second with one out. Seniors Amanda Ross and Criket Blanco put together a double play to end the half inning.
With two outs in the bottom of the fourth, freshman Jordan Fortel knocked out her seventh homer of the year to make the score 2-0.
With loaded bases, Mercer's Meghan Rude hit a single to right field, batting in two to tie it up in the top of the fifth. An inning later, Quirisa Mauga knocked out a two-run homer to give Mercer their first lead of the game 4-2.
Freshman Amanda Beltran blasted her third home run of the SoCon Tournament to tie it up again 4-4.
In the top of the seventh, Mercer loaded the bases. As Taylor Rodgers put the ball into play, Andrews started running home. Conner made an attempt to throw her out but hit her helmet allowing the Bears to score twice. Mercer added one more run off a single from Shaila Warren.
