COOKEVILLE, Tenn. --- The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga women's soccer team closed out the preseason with a 2-2 tie in an exhibition matchup Sunday evening at Tennessee Tech.
The Mocs trailed the Golden Eagles 2-0 midway through the second period.
Masey Fox got Chattanooga on the board with a pass from
Catherine Meyer on a cross at the top of the box in the 72
nd minute. Three and-a-half minutes later,
Chloe Arnold tied the match 2-2 on a penalty kick.
The Mocs outshot Tennessee Tech 8-6 and had five shots on goal compared to two for the Golden Eagles. Arnold led UTC with three shots with two on goal and freshman
Hollie Massey had two shots with one on goal and assisted on Chattanooga's first goal.

Ashton Shields made the start in goal for Chattanooga and junior
Melia Correa, making her first appearance in the preseason, played the entire second half. Each keeper had one goal against and no saves.
Tennessee Tech scored the lone first half goal on a penalty kick in the 19
th minute. The Golden Eagles spread its lead to 2-0 in the 59
th minute with a shot to the right.
Chattanooga battled Belmont to a 1-1 tie last week and close out the preseason 0-0-2. The Mocs regular season-opener is Friday, August 17 against Alabama A&M at 3:00 p.m. at Finley Stadium. The South Gate will open at 2:00 p.m. Please be aware of the CLEAR BAG policy implemented this year by Finley Stadium. Concessions will be available and admission is free, but parking is not.
