- Chattanooga dropped its season opener 79-68 at Eastern Kentucky…it was the first game for both teams.
- 31-12 in opening games during the DI era…5-11 away from the Scenic City.
- Won six of the last eight season openers with a 3-2 record on the road with wins at Georgia (2015), Tennessee (2016) and last year's win at Charlotte (2018) and losses tonight and at Wyoming (2017).
- Shot 32.4 percent making 22 of 68…30.2 percent (13-43) INSIDE the 3pt line.
- Led 38-33 at the half behind 50 percent 3pt accuracy (6-12)…cooled in the second frame making 27.0 percent (10-37) overall and 23.1 percent from long range.

- Grad transfer Matt Ryan (Vandy) had 15 points and a team-high eight rebounds…the eight boards are a career high of seven…3-10 from 3pt range…19th career game with three or more treys…15th game with double digits.
- Junior Rod Johnson added 12 points, five rebounds and two assists…it was on 3-6 shooting making 2-3 from 3pt range and 4-4 from 3pt land.
- Career-best five assists for Maurice Commander…topped the four he had last November in his first career start against Hiwassee.
