Katie Burrows, Head Coach
On the style of play from WCU.
"They were super physical. We had to make those adjustments and decided to be physical back. We had to make some adjustments and when they did, we kept attacking. I think we were a little more discipline, but I have to go back and watch it. I was proud that we were able to overcome some things."
Â
On finding the right stride.
"I think it's happening at the right time now that we're inching our way to tournament time. I think some of them are starting to come alive and gain some confidence. I would say that the consistency is over time. We just put two games together, so now let's put together a third, a fourth, and see if we can keep that consistency. It's not just games, it's waking up for practice in the morning. I would say we have taken a step forward but would like to take a couple more steps forward before the tournament. I'm pleased with putting these two games together."
Â
On the team's outlook moving forward.
"I think that we can be a very dangerous team. Even in the games we lost this season, the production has come from everyone. The list goes on and on. We have people who will come in and produce, it's just finding those right combinations every game. It's kind of a blessing and curse because you don't know who it's going to be. But most of the time it takes care of itself."
Â
Eboni Williams, Jr.-F
On today's win over WCU.
"I had a lot of fun today and I know my teammates did too. It was a fun game all-around. We just had to keep our heads down and keep our common goal in mind and to play our pace, and not their pace."
Â
On the physicality of WCU.
"I figured they were going to come out a little bit harder, not knowing that we were going to get to the line as much as we did, but we expected them to play that hard. It's satisfying for now, but we'll get ready to move on to the next."
Â
Bria Dial, Sr.-F
On keeping up with the physicality.
"It's just keeping your head and matching their energy. Whenever you go up, you just have to expect the contact and finish through it."
Â
On the depth of this team.
"I feel like it makes us hard to guard because we have so many people that can step up, so we're not even worried. It's been like that for the past couple games. We have so many people that can score and it makes us hard to guard and better all-around."
