Head Coach Katie Burrows
Opening Statement:
"What a heck of a year. It just never really seemed like we got into a rhythm, although I will say before Christmas it did feel like we were, and then bam, COVID and injuries gets us. But the unfortunate thing is, that doesn't matter. Life is going to keep coming at you, and it's how you respond. We didn't always respond the appropriate way, but we sure fought like hell. That's the one thing that I'm thankful for in these girls. In the locker room prior to this, we didn't talk about any of this, these stats. Its just the finality of it all, and the relationships we've built. Our one senior that's leaving, and we've never had anyone say this before, but she said, 'Selfishly, I didn't want it to end, because I want to spend more time with the people in this locker room.' So, we got the culture piece down, and no doubt in my mind the talent is there, and if we have a season that looks a little bit different, the things they could've done would've been endless. That's the thing that I'm looking forward to most right now. We are all tired of feeling this way, and we've taken one step closer and gotten a group of people in here that are all going in the same direction together. A little about the game, you can't have 21 turnovers and give up 20 offensive rebounds and win a ball game. But, a lot of positives to take away from it, and we have to buckle down if we want to win the big games."

On building off of this year:
"We're going to be that team that we've played all year long, if that makes sense. We have three kids coming back that we shouldn't have because of COVID. I've got all these young kids that have all this great experience, and they've got three years left to do something amazing with it. And those kids in the locker room are not going to let this outcome happen again. They're going to be practicing, going to the gym all summer, and they're going to do all they can to keep that from happening again."

On what went wrong at the end:
"It was a matter of not getting the stops when we needed it, and not executing on the offensive end. A timely rebound, a missed box-out, things like that. In crunch time, gut-check time; we have to make sure we take advantage of those opportunities next time."

On what went right during the big lead in the first-half:
"I thought we did the best job we had done all season long, with scoring and stopping and scoring and stopping. The cool thing is, is we only hit five 3s, and we quit settling. We had 40 paint points, and Abbey (Cornelius) had 26 of those. I think that was a thing of beauty, and it's something that has to continue for four quarters."

Abbey Cornelius, Jr.-F
On 26-point, nine-rebound performance:
"It hurts just the same. If we go out without a win, it hurts."

On moving forward to next year:
"It's going to be our drive all summer. We have that team family culture now, so we're going to use that to not be in this position again."
