Mocs Talk Samford in This Week’s Press Conference

Camden Orth was joined by Chattanooga Mocs head coach Rusty Wright and kicker Jude Kelley at this week’s press conference in advance of Saturday’s trip to Birmingham.

The Chattanooga Mocs are firmly in game week. No. 8 is this Saturday with a visit to an old friend. Samford is on the docket with the series starting in 1906, the 15th game the Mocs played in their history. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:30 p.m., on ESPN+ and via the airwaves on the Mocs Sports Network.
 
About the Speakers
  • Wright became the fifth Mocs head football coach to reach 40 career wins. The others? 170-Scrappy Moore (1931-67), 59-Russ Huesman (2009-16), 77-Joe Morrison (1973-79) & Buddy Nix (1984-92).
  • Kelley is seven for nine all-time in onside kick conversion. Some would argue eight of nine, but the official ledger is seven.
  • Orth for 343 yards completing 20 of 32 passes with four touchdowns and zero interceptions. He set a new career high with 374 yards of total offense. He was an honorable mention for Stats Perform National Player of the Week.
Coach Wright began the presser followed by Kelley and Orth.


Next Up
The Mocs and Samford meet Saturday at 3:30 p.m., Eastern time, in Birmingham. The Mocs return home for the final two regular season home games of the season with Western Carolina (Nov. 1) and Furman (Nov. 8) coming to visit.
