KENNESAW, Ga. --- The Chattanooga softball team struck first, but it would be Kennesaw State with the hot bats late to claim a 3-1 win over the Mocs at Bailey Park Wednesday night.

Abi Bunt led off the second with a single through the left side and advanced to second on a ground out. A fielder's choice put her on third and
Ava Cowart had a hard hit up the middle, driving her home to give Chattanooga at 1-0 lead.

The Owls plated a run each in the final three innings including a solo home run to open the sixth.

Baileigh Pitts went 2-for-3 with a double and Cowart and Bunt each had a hit in the game.
Taylor Long went five innings with seven strikeouts, two walks and three runs.

Chattanooga hits the road for a weekend in Hattiesburg, Miss., for the Hub City Classic hosted by Southern Miss. The Mocs get started at 3:00 p.m. Eastern time Friday against Lamar. Follow all the action online at GoMocs.com.
