NASHVILLE, Tenn. (March 13, 2026) – For the sixth time in 12 non-conference matches this season, the Chattanooga Mocs men's tennis team saw a match result decided by just one team point as the squad fell in a tight 4-3 road contest at in-state foe Belmont on Friday evening at the Beaman Family Tennis Complex in Nashville, Tenn.

In doubles, the Belmont duo of Will Ecklund and Charlie Robin kicked things off with a 6-4 win over UTC's Julian Franzmann and Kristof Kincses on court No. 2. Sabi Roi and Stefan Vedovelli clinched the team point for the hosts with a 6-4 win over Cortland Grove and Jakub Jupa at No. 1 while the battle at No. 3 ultimately went unfinished as a result.
 
In singles, Chattanooga quickly leveled the match behind a straight-set victory from Franzmann over Robin (6-3, 6-1) at No. 2 before grabbing a 2-1 lead as TJ Ryerson posted a win at No. 6 over Eli Mizerski (6-2, 6-0). Belmont tied the match after Roi defeated UTC's Martin Delnido, 6-4, 6-3, at the No. 3 slot before the squad reclaimed the lead (3-2) behind a Bautis Durrels Rojo straight-set winner (6-3, 6-4) over Kincses at No. 4.
 
Jupa kept the Mocs and his singles winning streak alive (now W7) with a three-set, comeback win (2-6, 6-4, 6-2) at the top pairing over Vedovelli. Tied 3-3, the match came down to a three-set thriller on court No. 4 as Belmont's Morgan Woodson ultimately fought off Grove (6-3, 4-6, 7-5) to give the home team a 4-3 victory.
