Men’s Basketball’s Jordan Frison Tabbed Southern Conference Player of the Week

The Chattanooga Mocs men’s basketball junior guard averaged more than 30 points on the week to earn his second weekly honor of the season.

SPARTANBURG, S.C. (March 2, 2026) --- For the second time this season, Chattanooga Mocs men's basketball junior guard Jordan Frison has been tabbed the Southern Conference Player of the Week as the league office announced its weekly honor Monday afternoon.

Frison, who previously earned the honor back on December 22, becomes the first Moc since Jake Stephens during the 2022-23 season to gain SoCon Player of the Week status multiple times in a single season. Stephens accumulated six POTW awards during the 2022-23 campaign including four-straight from November 21 - December 19, 2022.

Frison finished the week averaging an impressive 30.5 points-per-game while shooting an incredible 74.3% (26-35 FG) from the floor including a 55.6% (5-9 3FG) mark from three to help lead Chattanooga to a two-game split against UNCG (L, 80-85) and VMI (W, 86-79). Frison added per-game averages of 3.0 assists and 2.5 rebounds while accumulating a healthy 6.0 assist-to-turnover ratio in the process.

Frison poured in a career-high (at the DI level) 33 points on 14-of-18 FG (77.8%; 3-4 3FG; 75.0%) shooting while adding three rebounds and three assists over 34 minutes of action in Saturday's win over VMI. The performance followed a 28-point (12-17 FG; 70.6%; 2-5 3FG; 40.0%) effort, adding in three assists and two boards, in Thursday's contest against UNCG.

For the season, Frison ranks ninth among SoCon individuals in scoring average (16.4 PPG) while sitting fourth among qualified candidates in field-goal percentage (55.9%). Frison surpassed 500 points this season during Saturday's regular season finale against VMI to become the 25th different Moc in program history to score 500+ within a single season.

Chattanooga (13-18) enters the upcoming Southern Conference Tournament as the No. 8 seed and will open against No. 9 The Citadel on Friday evening at 5 p.m. (ET) inside the Harrah's Cherokee Center – Asheville in Asheville, N.C. The game will broadcast LIVE on ESPN+.
