NASHVILLE, Tenn. --- Chattanooga sprinter Ryleigh Simmons bested her previous best time in the 200 meter dash as she inches closer to the UTC program record with a Top 10 and PR in the race Friday afternoon at the Outdoor Music City Challenge hosted by Vanderbilt.

Simmons clocked a time of 24.34 and placed second in her heat, seventh overall, taking 0.12 seconds off her previous best time set April 17 this season at the Georgia Tech Invitational.

Bella King also set a PR in the 1500 meter race finishing in a time of 4:44.92, more than three seconds faster than her previous top time. Maddie Wheatcroft placed 11^th in the race with a time of 4:31.27 and Leah Boyd Mitchell finished at 4:40.19.

Both runners in the 5000 meter ran a faster race than previously. Aubrey Park, who ran her fastest race at the time at the UAH Rocket City Challenge where she won the 5000 meter, knocked more than 25 seconds off her time, clocking in a t 17:40.82. Lola Baker finished more than 15 seconds faster than her outdoor track top time at 18:32.42.

Norah Haney took 11^th in the javelin with a throw of 109-7 and Scarlett Nash was 11^th in the 3000 meter with a time of 10:25.19. Emma Thweatt, running the distance for the first time in outdoor track, finished with a time of 11:06.77.
