The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga women's tennis team wrapped up play at the Georgia Southern Invitational today. The Mocs were led by junior
Delaney Edwards who took the Blue Singles backdraw this morning in Statesboro, Ga.
The draws were mixed up to keep teammates from playing each other as the brackets progress. Edwards closed out her weekend with a three-set win over Georgia Southern's Ella Monsey (6-4, 3-6, 1-0 (4)).
"I thought it was a good weekend," stated head coach
Chad Camper. "I felt like we fought real hard and found a lot of things we have to work on.
"It was a great tournament to get ready for the ITA Regionals in a few weeks. I was pretty pleased and the new kids are coming along well."

Sydney Patton also won today. The Mocs dropped all three of the their doubles matches.
"I was waiting for this weekend for a long time," stated freshman
Tamri Chalaganidze. "I was finally able to play for Chattanooga for the first time and experience Division I women's tennis. I was very excited and a little bit nervous from the beginning, but after few games in my doubles match I felt the energy and felt comfortable on the court.
"I was glad to be with my team and had an opportunity to get to know them better and see them while playing matches. Unfortunately, I couldn't win all of my matches, but I tried my best and hope to get better and better for the coming up tournaments."
Up next for the Mocs is the ITA Regionals in Murfreesboro, Tenn., on Oct. 12-16.
