BIRMINGHAM, Ala. --- The Chattanooga women's soccer team fell 2-0 at Samford on a wet, windy Friday night at the Shauna Yelton Field in the quarterfinal round of the Southern Conference Tournament.

The Bulldogs headed home two goals in the first half and outshot the Mocs 15-4 in the match.

The Mocs controlled the ball early in the first half, but Samford was able to get the ball into Chattanooga territory in the latter part of the period and connected twice on headers to take a 2-0 lead into intermission.

Carolina Donovan broke the ice in the 23^rd minute, heading an assist into the net from Taylor Yount. Just over 10 minutes later, Audrey Kleinman picked up a pass into the box from Alyssa Frazier and headed it home in the 33^rd minute.

Mackenzie Smith and Julia Perrusquia got off shots in the first half while Samantha Shaw and Grace Klippenstein each had a shot on goal in the second half.

Abbey Saddler recorded five saves in the match and Samford's Morgan McAslan had three. Taylor Yount had a game-best four shots while Jennifer Seward and Mary Raymond each had three.

Chattanooga closes out the year 6-11-3 overall. Samford improves to 12-3-2 and will take on the winner between Mercer and East Tennessee State.
