CHATTANOOGA---The Chattanooga Mocs men's golf team makes the quick trip to eastern Georgia returning to the Linger Longer Invitational. They tee it up Sunday at Great Waters Course against a power-packed field that features three top 10 teams led by No. 4 North Carolina. Two more top 25 teams are in the field with a total of nine of the 15 competing squads ranked in the top 50 nationally.
The five starting Mocs represent a veteran crew. Paul Conroy leads the way. He is 2 under for the campaign looking to register the fourth sub-par season in school history. Two of those came from current PGA TOUR member Stephan Jaeger in 2011 (-1) and 2012 (-22), while the other was turned in by All-American Jonathan Hodge in 2008 (-9).
Braedon Wear is coming off a T4 finish last time out in Nevada. He has the team's lone win this year, and he and Conroy both had their chances a week ago. Connor Nolan returns to the pairing sheet after tying Conroy in sixth out in Vegas. Alex Cobb and Matt Smith round out a solid lineup.
The group starts its opening round at 10 a.m. Paired with Clemson and South Florida, Smith starts the Mocs off the first tee followed by Cobb (10:09), Nolan (10:18), Conroy (10:27) and Wear (10:36).
Live scoring and pairings are linked above along with the Mocs detailed stats/notes package.
