Women’s Tennis Travels to Clarksville for 2023 Fall Opener at Austin Peay

The Chattanooga Mocs women's tennis team is set to open the 2023 fall campaign this weekend at Austin Peay.
CHATTANOOGA --- The new-look Chattanooga Mocs women's tennis team will stay in-state to open the 2023 fall season as the squad treks to Clarksville, Tennessee, this weekend to compete at Austin Peay Friday through Sunday.
The fall-opening event will be a hidden dual format with various programs around the area competing. The event, as of now, will not carry live stats or live video. Please check the schedule page for any available coverage links.
"The team has really utilized each practice this fall, and we're excited to see some things come together this weekend," said head coach Chad Camper.
"We have good energy, and we just need to stay focused, not only in our matches, but collectively as a team."
The 2023 squad features a plethora of new faces consisting of a solid balance between true freshman newcomers and transfers acquired through the portal. All-Southern Conference performers Caroline Gibbens (senior) and Rozalie Dohnalova (junior) are lone returners while the program added six newcomers in the offseason.
Graduate transfer Emma Peeler arrives at UTC following an All-MAC playing career at Ball State while junior transfer Alice Hall makes a short trip east following a pair of All-American seasons at DIII Sewanee. Four true freshmen round out the roster which includes three international prospects.
