CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. --- The Chattanooga Mocs indoor track and field team hits the road Friday for the Bulldog Invitational hosted by Samford at the Birmingham CrossPlex.
"We're looking forward to competing on Friday in Birmingham," Mocs assistant coach Patrick Gildea said. "It's our final bit of race prep prior to the Southern Conference Championships and we have some assignments that we want to complete. We have a sizeable, healthy and motivated group ready to go. Everyone has trained well and is eager to see where their fitness is down in Alabama."
Ryleigh Simmons and Stella Henry get the meet started for the Mocs with the 60 meter dash trials at 11:50 a.m. Eastern time. From there it goes to the long distance race, the 5000 meter run with Andrea Ellis, Aubrey Park, Leah Boyd, Lola Baker and Michaela Dabney.
The Mocs field events get started at 12:30 p.m. Eastern time with the women's long jump featuring Adelaide McKeown, Ava McGue and Norah Haney. McKeown and Haney are also in the shot put while McGue closes out the field events with the high jump at 5:30 p.m.
McKeown and Haney pivot to the 60 meter hurdles trials at 1:25 p.m.
Anna Roberson, Kennedy Reynolds, Lexi Foley, Olivia Steele and Taylor Crawford run the women's Mile at 2:25 p.m. and the crew toes the line just before 4 p.m. in the women's 800 meter run.
Sarah Unterholzner represents the Mocs in the 400 meter dash while McGue and Simmons run the shorter 200 meter dash.
Audrey Wade, Brooke Tyll, Ellie Herrmann, Emma Thweatt, EV McGowan, Leah Boyd and Maddie Wheatcroft run the 3000 meter run at 5:25 p.m. and the race closes out with Unterholzner, Haney, McKeown and McGue in the 4x400 meter relay.
All times listed are Eastern. The meet takes place in Birmingham, Ala., in the Central Time Zone.
MOCS BATON AWARD
"Ryleigh Simmons received our initial Mocs Baton Award, so she'll have to decide who she hands that stick off to after we regroup and prepare for our trip to Lexington, Va., at the end of the month," Gildea said.
