Men’s Golf Eyes Move over Final 18 at Colleton River

Camden Braidech led the Chattanooga Mocs in near perfect fashion Sunday at the Colleton River Collegiate.

Overview
The Chattanooga Mocs men's golf team is 10th after 36 holes of the Colleton River Collegiate. The Mocs opened with 295 and closed with 284 on the Colleton River Dye Course. The 3-over 579 is one shot behind Cincinnati and Missouri in a tie for eighth and two clear of ETSU in 11th. Chattanooga is 15 shots off the lead but just four shy of fifth-place Rutgers.

Breakdown
  • Opened with a 7-over 295. Evan Rogers led the way with 1-under 71. Camden Braidech was next at level-par 72 with Thad Whitfield adding 75. Griffin Law completed the team score with 77 while Ethan Whitaker had the drop score of 79.
  • The afternoon saw a comeback with 4-under 284. Braidech was scintillating with a season-best 67 as Rogers and Law turned in 70s. Whitfield contributed 77 with Whitaker's 80 getting dropped.
  • Braidech is tied for fourth at 5-under 139. Rogers is just outside the top 10 in 11th with 141 (-3).
  • Braidech is two shots off the pace set by Jack Schoenberger (Kentucky) & Ryan Shellberg (Iowa).
  • Braidech had a near perfect day. He turned in seven birdies, 27 pars and just two bogeys.
  • His 67 is tied for third lowest by a Moc this season by total. 5 under ties Rogers for low vs par. Rogers opened the season with a 65 at Tennessee National in September.
  • His 139 is the second best 36-hole score but lowest vs par.
  • The counting cards posted 30 birdies with 12 in the first round and 18 over the second 18. There was also one eagle (Whitfield).
  • 11 under on the par 5s with 6 under over the first run and 5 under in the second.
  • The Mocs start Monday's final round at 7:55 a.m., as a team, 7:45 a.m., with individual Conner Brummitt leading off No. 10.
