Chattanooga Tennis’ Jupa, Iacono Advance in ITA All-American Championships Pre-Qualifying Stage

The Chattanooga Mocs tennis programs saw each of their qualifying candidates earn an opening round victory.
CHATTANOOGA (September 19, 2026) – It was a successful pre-qualifying opening day for the Chattanooga Mocs tennis programs at both the men's and women's Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) All-American Championships held in Tulsa, Okla., and Cary, N.C., respectively.
On the men's side, senior Jakub Jupa posted a 6-3, 6-2 victory over Georgia's Oliver Sanders during his second-straight appearance in the event. He'll move on to tomorrow's final round of pre-qualification and will face No. 21 Landon Ardila (Princeton).
On the women's side, sophomore Addison Iacono earned a 6-2, 6-4 victory over 2026 All-Big Ten performer Maria Taranova (Nebraska) in her first appearance at the national event. She moves on to face another Big Ten opponent tomorrow in Wisconsin's Lucie Urbanova, who captured the 2025 ITA All-American Championships doubles title with her partner Maria Sholokhova last year.
