Mocs Score 7-0 Shutout Over Metro State

UTC wins all six singles matches in straight sets today.
The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga men's tennis team snapped a five-match losing streak with a 7-0 win over Metro State at the Champions Club this afternoon.
The Mocs won two of three doubles and all six singles to improve to 5-10 on the year. The Roadrunners, an NCAA Division II program from Denver, Colo., dropped to 4-5 with the loss.
Senior Luke Saunders and junior Lucas Plesky teamed up for a 7-5 win at No. 1 doubles against Marty Lukosiunas and Parker Jones. Senior John Peacey and sophomore Derrick Brown followed with a 6-2 win over Porter Emery and Keenan Kaltenbacher at No. 2.
UTC won all six singles matches in straight sets. Plesky, Saunders and senior Nick Wingord sealed the team win with victories at 1-3. Peacey won at No. 4, followed by Brown at No. 6.
The match of the afternoon was the finale at No. 5. Freshman Pablo Llebeili won a tiebreaker (7-5) in the first set, before defeating Kaltenbacher 6-3 in the second.
The Mocs hit the road for the next three matches, beginning with an April 1 showdown at Mercer.
