The Chattanooga Mocs tennis programs saw each of their qualifying candidates earn an opening round victory on Saturday before concluding action on Sunday.

CHATTANOOGA (September 21, 2026) – After opening round ITA All-American Championship pre-qualifying victories from Jakub Jupa and Addison Iacono on Saturday, the Chattanooga Mocs men's and women's tennis representatives had their national tournament runs conclude this weekend.

Jupa defeated Georgia's Oliver Sanders (6-3, 6-2) on Saturday to open the event's pre-qualifying round in Tulsa, Okla. The UTC senior standout fell in the second round of the same pre-qualifying stage to Princeton's No. 21 Landon Ardila (7-6 (2), 6-1) on Sunday.

"Jakub had a good run in this high-level event," said head coach Chuck Merzbacher. "There are so many good players and he represented the Mocs well while picking up a good victory."

On the women's side in Cary, N.C., Iacono opened the event with a 6-2, 6-4 win over Nebraska's Maria Taranova in the first pre-qualifying matchup. She advanced to face another Big Ten opponent in Lucie Urbanova (Wisconsin) on Sunday, but ultimately dropped a 6-2, 6-3 decision.

"Addison had a good fight this weekend at a big-time event," head coach Chad Camper said. "She represented Chattanooga and earned a really good win over a Big Ten opponent."
