Tough field awaits the UTC men's tennis team at the University of Louisville.

The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga men's tennis team returns to action this weekend at the Louisville Invite in Louisville, Ky. The Mocs are one of 14 teams participating in the event on Oct. 13-15 at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center.

"The team is very excited to play in the Louisville Invite," stated UTC head coach Chuck Merzbacher. "This is a high level event and we will be challenged in every flight. There are lots of opportunities for good wins."

Teams participating with the Mocs include Ball State, Butler, Cleveland State, DePaul, Illinois State, Kentucky, Lipscomb, Louisville, Middle Tennessee, Tennessee Tech, Toledo, Wright State and Xavier.

There are A, B and C flights in both singles and doubles. Sophomores Niklas Gerdes and Simon Bustamante are in the A Singles Flight, while freshmen Luke Plaisted and Jacob Marshall are in the B draw. Senior Michael Birnbaum, juniors Pablo Llebeili and Paul LaHue and freshman Cooper Long round out the Mocs entries in the C draw.

Gerdes and Bustamante are pairing up in the A Doubles Flight. Long and Marshall are in the B draw, while Plaisted/Llebebili and Birnbaum/LaHue give UTC two teams in the C flight.
