Mocs Drop SoCon Match at Mercer

The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga men's tennis team dropped a 6-1 Southern Conference match at Mercer today. The Mocs won only one singles match in Macon, Ga.
Freshman Luke Plaisted scored UTC's lone point with a (6-3, 6-1) victory against Stathis Tsiranidis at No. 5. The win evened Plaisted's overall singles mark at 11-11, including a 6-7 tally in spring action. It was his first win at No. 5, improving to 1-1 in SoCon matches.
The Mocs are 6-7 overall and 1-1 in league play, while Mercer improved to 9-5 and 1-0 in conference duals. Up next for UTC is a trip to Wilmington, N.C., for the UNCW Spring Invitational. The Mocs face the host Seahawks on March 17, followed by Bryant on March 18.
