AUBURN, Ala. --- The Chattanooga Mocs brought home seven Top 10 finishes this weekend at the War Eagle Invitational at the Hutsell-Rosen Track on the Auburn University campus.
Â
"We did very well this weekend at Auburn," Chattanooga head coach Andy Meyer said. "Most everyone set PRs or at least season-bests in their events."
Â
On Friday, Nicole Buehrle ran a personal best 4:34.23 in the 1500 meter invitational. In the 5000 meter invite, Sophia Neglia ran a season-best 18:15.13 and Emily Poole, running unattached, also hit a top time for the season at 18:04.31.
Â
"Nicole was outstanding in the 1500 meter, staying out of the wind and timing her kick perfectly," Meyer said. "She continues with big time improvements each time she runs and followed that with an improved 400 meter hurdle race.
Â
"Sophia ran a very paced and steady race in the 5K," Meyer added.
Â
Katie Coker posted a personal best 2:21.08 in the 800 meter and Julia Henderson won her heat in the 1500 meter with a PR time of 4:49.94. Jada Hale also posted a PR, placing third in the 5K with a time of 20:36.26.
Â
"Julia won her heat with a great finish and finally cracked the 4:50 barrier," Meyer said. "Jada Hale ran her best college 5K, staying conservative and finishing the last 800 meters hard."
Â
The Mocs will now spend the week prepping for the Southern Conference Championships next weekend in Birmingham, Ala.
Â
"Overall the ladies' performance was exactly what we wanted and what some needed," Meyer said. "Everyone will be carrying positive momentum going into conference. In running, feeling good about your last performance goes a long way to prepare for your next performance.

Senior Mark Britt wins 1500 meter Saturday
Â
Mark Britt, running his final meet of his collegiate career, came out strong over the two-day meet. He ran his first-ever 3000 meter Steeplechase and placed seventh then came back Saturday to win the men's 1500 meter run in a time of 4:05.02.
Â
"All three of the guys finished their season equally impressive," Meyer said. "Mark, running the steeple for the first time looked like he'd done it forever. He won the 1500 race overall by taking charge early and accelerating away through the full race."
Â
Jonathan Boyd placed fourth in the 5000 meter with a PR 15:35.02 while Josh Topham, running both the 800 and 1500 meter races, took seventh in the 1500m with a time of 4:15.95.
Â
"Josh was able to run his best overall in the 1500/800 double," Meyer said. "To set two PRs in those events in the same afternoon is very difficult.
Â
"Jonathan ran a great 5K, negative split the race and had a great last K kick. He looked impressive.
Â
"We are elated the guys finished the season off on such a positive experience, especially Mark Britt. He's been such a constant for us and a great leader. To end your college career with placing in a race you're doing for the first time and then win your final one the next day is a deserved ending for such a great kid. We certainly will miss him!"
