JACKSONVILLE, Fla.---The Chattanooga Mocs women's golf team returns to the tee this week at the UNF Collegiate. The Mocs head to Jacksonville with a lot of history at the Country Club of Jacksonville.
This is the sixth year the ladies tackle the 5,926-yard tract including fifth in a row. There's a runner-up in 2018 and tie for third last spring. Esme Hamilton earned the first top 5 at CCJ by a Moc tying for third at 2 over (218).
Hamilton is back along with fellow junior Dorota Zalewska. Freshmen Carolina Hortian and Megan Docherty round out the squad. The quartet looks to improve on the opening week at Reynolds Lake Oconee last month.
Zalewska is authoring one of the best seasons in school history. She is just 6 over through five events, an average 71.80 which is less than a stroke better than Hamilton's 72.60. Both those numbers are on pace to beat Emily McLennan's 73.34 in 2015-16.
Monday's 36-hole day is an 8:30 a.m., shotgun start. The ladies begin on holes 3-5 paired with Sam Houston and Georgia Southern. The final 18 concludes the event on Tuesday.
