Mocs Drop Home Match to EKU

UTC forced four singles maches to three sets today.
The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga men's tennis team dropped a 7-0 match to Eastern Kentucky at the Champions Club this afternoon. The Mocs won one doubles and forced four singles matches to three sets before falling to the Colonels.
Senior Nick Wingord and freshman Pablo Llebeili defeated Diogo Soares and Guillem Sanchis in an 8-6 tiebreaker at No. 3 doubles today. They improved to 3-1 in the spring with the win.
The doubles point was already decided, but the win seemed to give UTC a little momentum. The Mocs went up quickly in three matches. Wingord and junior Lucas Plesky won their first sets at No. 2 and No. 1, respectively.
Seniors Luke Saunders and John Peacey both lost their first sets, but each won the second. Those were the four matches the Mocs moved to three sets, but they lost each in the final frame.
UTC is on the road next week, beginning with a March 3 match at Alabama A&M.
