Soccer Takes on TTU, Belmont in Preseason

UTC will travel to the midstate for two exhibition matches this weekend.
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. --- The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga women's soccer team will travel to Tennessee Tech Friday, August 11 and on to Belmont Sunday in a pair of preseason exhibition matches.
The Mocs are 12-6-1 against the Golden Eagles in regular season play. The last time the two teams met was in head coach Gavin McKinney's inaugural season at Chattanooga. The match ended in a double-overtime 1-1 tie in Cookeville.
TTU, picked to finish fourth in the Ohio Valley Conference preseason poll, fell 2-1 to Kennesaw State Tuesday in a preseason scrimmage. The match will take place at 8:00 p.m. Eastern time at the Tech Soccer Field.
The Mocs have yet to gain a victory over Belmont and the two have not met in the regular season since 2005. The Bruins hold a 5-0 advantage over the Mocs.
Belmont is picked to finish seventh in the OVC standings and will take on Lipscomb Friday evening. The match will take place at 6:00 p.m. Eastern time at the E.S. Rose Park.
Chattanooga returns 18 letterwinners and signed seven newcomers to the 2017 roster. Returners include keeper Melia Correa (Clarksville, Tenn.), Masey Fox (Greenback, Tenn.), McKenzie Gregg (Newport, Tenn.), Abby Linder (Germantown, Tenn.), Emily Moseley (Nashville, Tenn.) and all-freshman team selection Jordan Mueller (Hendersonville, Tenn.).
The Mocs finished the 2016 season at 6-11-2 overall and tied for fifth in the Southern Conference standings at 4-4-1.
