CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. --- The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga women's track athletes Kennedy Thomson and Nicole Buehrle were accepted into the Tennessee Relays this weekend. Both will run the 1500 meter race Friday night at the Tom Black Track.
Â
"Kennedy and Nicole are excited about their races Friday and the opportunity they have been awarded," Chattanooga head coach Andy Meyer said. "These two great young ladies will get to race against the very best in Division I track and field."
Â
Thomson set the school record in the 800 meter at the Raleigh Relays last month and ran her only 1500 meter at the same event. She is slated to run both races Friday in Knoxville. Buehrle, who posted her PR in the 1500 meter at the Emory Invitational this year, will run that race alongside Thomson.
Â
"UTK always puts on a fantastic meet with the very best runners in the country," Meyer said. "It will be exciting for our kids, but for Amanda [Cotter] and I as coaches. We are very proud of their hard work and we know they will race to the very best of their abilities."
Â
The 800 meter is set to run at 5:25 p.m. Friday night with the 1500 meter at 6:35 the same evening. Live stats are available online at GoMocs.com and results will be posted following the meet.
