Men's Tennis Set for ITA Ohio Valley Regionals

CHATTANOOGA --- The Chattanooga Mocs men's tennis team gets set to compete in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Ohio Valley Regional Championships this weekend at the University of Tennessee, September 23-27 in Knoxville.
Chattanooga will compete in both the men's singles and doubles open categories and will travel eight student-athletes. The list of competitors includes: Kerim Hyatt, Peyton Gatti, Kaisei Kuroki, Simon Labbe, Jacob Marshall, Jordan McClure, Ryan Mudre and Tomas Rodriguez.
The men's squad is coming off its first even of the fall season following the UNCG invite two weekends ago in Greensboro, N.C. Hyatt led the squad with a perfect 4-0 mark in singles action while Rodriguez followed with a 2-1 tally in the No. 1 singles slot.
In doubles action, the duo of Hyatt/Kuroki and Rodriguez/Gatti each went unblemished at UNCG after claiming 2-0 records. The team earned a total of 14 wins over the three-day event in Greensboro.
The ITA Ohio Valley Regional was last held in 2019 at Vanderbilt in Nashville and saw UTC earn success. Former Moc Turner Voges advanced to the main draw Round of 32 while Rodriguez advanced to consolation action.
