Every Tuesday during game weeks this season, the Mocs hold a press conference with coverage from the Times Free Press, Channels 3, 9 & 12, along with WUTC radio and various radio and television talents. This week featured Coach Rusty Wright leading off followed by junior center Devin Lively and fifth-year defensive tackle Montrell Henderson.
Lively's unit found a lot of success in the running game totaling 190 yards led by Journey Wyche's 113. That marks back-to-back 100-yard backs for the Mocs after Kevin Lalin totaled 128 at West Georgia. It's the first time since Eldra Buckley in 2006 that the squad started the season with two 100-yard rushing efforts.
Henderson's defense is off to a strong start. They rank sixth in the country in rushing defense (57.0 ypg) and total defense (228.0 ypg). Those are numbers Henderson's front four look to provide throughout the season.
